Welcome to the December 2023 Colleyville Heritage High School PTSA Newsletter, a communication to keep you informed and engaged throughout the school year. 

The CHHS PTSA hosts numerous events and activities throughout the school year to support our campus and community. If you are not a CHHS PTSA member, we hope you will create an account on our website and become a member today.  


CHHS PTSA Updates
Holiday Staff Appreciation- Sweet Treat Bar for Thursday, Dec. 14th

The CHHS PTSA will host a Holiday Sweet Treat Bar for our teachers and staff on Thursday, December 14th. 

Please sign up to bring a dozen of your favorite sweet treats (cookies, cupcakes, brownies, fudge, Chex mix, etc). Treats may be store-bought or homemade.  

Drop off your sweet treat donation on Thursday, December 14th, in the CHHS attendance office between 7:30 am and 9 am.  If your donation is homemade, please include any special ingredient information (contains nuts, gluten-free, etc) that we should pass on to our CHHS staff. 

Contact our Staff Appreciation Chair, Jennifer Sigrest, at staffappreciation@chhsptsa.org to make alternate drop off arrangements, if needed, or volunteer to help out that day.

Thank you for providing something special to our staff during this holiday season!

CHHS PTSA: 2nd Place in City of Colleyville Tree Decorating Contest

Congratulations to the CHHS PTSA for winning 2nd place in the City of Colleyville's Tree Decorating Contest!  

The beautiful tree is on display outside of the Colleyville Library and decorated by Amanda Wallace and Kristin Bonenberger with ornaments specially created by our talented Colleyville Heritage High School Visual Arts Students under the direction of Pam Gunn and Kaylee Fifer.

The tree is on display now through December 26th.  

Ultra-Plush CHHS Blanket Drawing

The PTSA is hosting a drawing for an ultra-plush CHHS PTSA blanket to kick off the winter holiday season!

How to enter our drawing: 

1.  Stop by the Colleyville City Library (100 Main Street, Colleyville, TX) & snap a pic with the CHHS PTSA Holiday Tree. 

2. Tag us in the picture on Facebook or Instagram with #CHHSPTSA. Make sure to make the picture settings public.

3. All #CHHSPTSA tags will receive one entry in the drawing for an ultra-plush blanket with an embroidered CHHS paw print. 

4. CHHS PTSA members receive two entries into the drawing! Join here.

5. The deadline to enter is 12/14/23. Drawing will be held on 12/15/23.

The CHHS PTSA Spirit Store is open!  All items are in stock and available for same-day porch pickup.  This includes our new CHHS embroidered blankets- perfect for this winter and holiday season!

If you made a previous Spirit Wear purchase and have yet to receive it, the order is waiting for you to pick it up! Check your email for directions from the Spirit Store or email spiritstore@chhsptsa.org to make other arrangements.

GCISD PTAs Senior Scholarship Application

The GCISD PTA Common Scholarship application for the Class of 2024 is now open!

The CHHS PTSA is pleased to join the other 17 GCISD PTAs again and offer senior scholarships. Almost $40,000 is awarded annually to our graduating seniors by our GCISD PTAs. 

CHHS Seniors interested in applying for any GCISD PTA scholarship must:

  1. Be a current CHHS PTSA member by 2/29/23.
  2. Complete the GCISD Council of PTAs Common Scholarship Application by 2/29/23. The common application is a one-stop shop for seniors applying for their elementary, middle, high school, and district-wide PTA scholarships.

By simply becoming a PTSA member, you support your child's school and teachers, and your voice joins the largest child advocacy organization in the nation. 

CHHS has 736 PTSA members as of today!  If you haven't joined for this school year, please join and help us reach our next goal of 931 members, which would allow us to earn TX PTA's One Voice for every Child- Silver Award

Reminder: CHampion Honor Cord

CHHS students who are PTSA members for 3 of their four years earn a FREE CHampion Honor cord for their senior graduation. 

Parents, students, teachers, and community members may join the PTSA at www.chhsptsa.org.

Parents, please submit your (PTSA, Booster, etc.) volunteer hours and encourage other volunteers in your organization to do the same. PTSA collects the number of volunteer hours so that GCISD can use them when applying for grants and other uses.

Thanksgiving Pie Thank you

The Thursday before Thanksgiving was pie-licious at Colleyville Heritage High School! 175 Buttermilk Sky Pie four-stacks were given to our teachers and staff. (That’s 700 mini pies!)

Thank you to the CHHS community for supporting this gift of gratitude to our incredible teaching staff!  We are grateful for everything our teachers do for our students and school.

CHHS Jazz Choir: Singing Holiday Cards

The CHHS Jazz Choir presents Singing Holiday Cards.  Order your Singing Holiday Card for December 15th or 16th on the the CHHS Choir website.


Semester Exam Schedule & Exemption Policy
Canned Food Drive: Nov. 29th- Dec. 11th

CHHS Leadership is hosting a canned food drive.  Drop off your canned food donations to your 4th period teacher or your coach. The team and class that has the most canned food wins a PRIZE!

CHHS Project Graduation Meeting

The next Project Graduation 2024 meeting is Wednesday, December 13th, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Rio Mambo (5150 State HWY 121, Colleyville, TX 76034)

We have several volunteer opportunities and look forward to having more parents join the planning of this event. All senior parents are invited. Underclassman parents are welcome to join and get involved, too!

MLK Day of Service

Every year, the Diversity Advisory Committee at Colleyville Heritage High School hosts a community donation drive to collect items of most need for our Panther Pantry, with many items going towards GRACE and other charitable organizations in our area.

Over the past three years, the Diversity Advisory Committee has been able to raise over 46,000 items, and would love to continue these efforts this year.

Please Save the Date for Monday, January 15th, and begin collecting items from the donation list for the Panther Pantry. Thank you!

Community Service Ambassador Program for Students

The Community Service Ambassador Program is designed to encourage all 9th-12th grade CHHS students to serve their community by performing at least 100 hours of approved community service. Students meeting this requirement will be recognized as Community Service Ambassadors upon graduation, and will be eligible to purchase a special cord for their graduation robes.  Click here for more information.
