By joining the PTSA and considering an additional donation to Pitch in for Panther$ One & Done fundraiser you can directly help the students & teachers at CHHS. This year’s PTSA budget of over $40,000 will be used towards sponsoring teacher grants, education programs for students & parents, special events, staff appreciation, campus beautification & improvements, just to name a few.

There is a new feature in Family Access called Skyward School Directory.  This feature allows parents to share child/parent information with the School Directory in Skyward. Selections on this screen will apply to all children in this family regardless of what campus they attend.
To be a part of the Skyward School Directory, please follow these instructions:
  • Login to Skyward Family Access
  • Click on “My Account”
  • Under School Directory, check the box to add your family
  • Make your selections as to what information you want to display for your family

SAT vs. act: Pros, Cons, Advice about college testing

Don't miss the next PTSA parent education program, Pros, Cons & Advice about college testing, starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14 in the CHHS library, following a brief business meeting.  A representative from KD College Prep will talk about the similarities and differences between the SAT and ACT test; the best time to take each test; and ways students can prepare.  Parents can ask questions after the presentation.  For more information email Debra Hurley at   


All CHHS students are invited to enter the PTSA's statewide art competitions, Reflections.  The theme this year is "Within Reach".  All entries must be turned into the main office by Tuesday, November 28th.  A student or at least one person from their household must be a current member of PTSA to participate.  Questions?  Email

Seniors: Join PTSA for scholarships

Don't forget to join PTSA for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.  Remember that 2018 seniors must join CHHS PTSA by October to be eligible to apply for PTSA scholarships in spring 2018.  CHHS PTSA is the booster club for all CHHS students, teachers, and parents!  Look for sign-up tables at Open House in September.  Questions?  Email Daneye Quigley at

DIVERSITY CHAIR:  Attend district wide meetings - about one per quarter - with other Diversity Awareness Committee and report back to the CHHS PTSA Executive Board about the district's initiatives.

REFLECTIONS CHAIR:  Work with CHHS art teachers to encourage participation in the State PTA's Reflections annual art contest; collect the entries and submit them to district competition in late Fall.


Have you submitted your college applications yet?  The Go Center is available for appointments to assist you with your college process or answer any questions you might have.  We are available before and after school, during lunch and during your senior releases.  In addition, scholarship opportunities are being updated in the GCISD website and will also be posted on the Go Center Scholarship wall.

All volunteers at CHHS (and for any GCISD school) must complete the following Volunteer Background Authorization form online.  All volunteers are required to reapply each year at THIS LINK.  Click on volunteer handbook and complete this training for each school you will be volunteering at and also download the Application form to complete the background check.  


DECA is a nonprofit education association that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality management in high schools and colleges around the globe, and is available to any student 9th-12th grade enrolled at CHHS.

If you did any volunteering for your favorite CHHS program this summer, or at any time during the school year, please submit your volunteer hours for June through September 2017 and encourage other volunteers to do the same.  PTSA collects the number of volunteer hours so that GCISD can use them for applying for grants and other uses.  This is only parent hours, not students' Community Scholar hours (see CSAP program guidelines on the Counseling website about that).
