SAT vs. ACT: PROS & CONS

The CHHS community is invited to attend a parent education program about college testing called “SAT vs. ACT: Pros and Cons” starting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15 in the CHHS Lecture Hall. After a brief PTSA General Meeting, a representative from K.D. College Prep of Colleyville will give a presentation about differences between the ACT & SAT, including information on which test is better for which student; when and/or how many times to take the tests; the difference between the new and old SAT format; and when and how to send test scores to colleges. The hour-long presentation will include time for questions. For more information, email Robyn Schmidt at president@chhsptsa.org.

FREE AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING

NEED free AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING?
CHHS Counseling has launched the PREP (Panthers Ready for Extra Practice) program at CHHS. From 4-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday in the library, teachers and students are available to tutor students; a teacher can proctor make-up quizzes and exams or supervise seat time, and a space will be available for students to work, collaborate and utilize technology that may otherwise be unavailable. To make it possible for all students to participate, at 6 p.m., a late bus drives students to 3 drop-off locations: Mid-Cities Blvd. & 360; Grapevine Mills Mall and Grapevine Middle.  No sign up is required. For more information, contact the Counseling Office.

GRATEFUL DADS

The Grateful Dads program encourages the involvement of dads on campus. We invite all CHHS Dads to participate in our 2016-2017 Greeter Program.  Greeters serve to greet the students as they arrive in the morning.

Greeters are needed for Friday of each week from 8:00 am to 8:40 am in three locations on campus.   Please visit Signup Genius for additional details and to sign up for the Greeter Program by following THIS LINK For questions or comments, please contact Bryan Holland, Grateful Dads Chairperson, at 817-875-5215 or gratefuldads@chhsptsa.org

SUBMIT VOLUNTEER HOURS

It’s time to submit the number of adult volunteer hours you volunteered for any CHHS  organization.  PTSA collects CHHS’s total number of volunteer hours so that GCISD can use them for applying for grants and other uses. This is only parent hours, not students’ Community Scholar hours (see CSAP program guidelines on the Counseling website for more info).   Please submit your hours in 2 minutes HERE.
